Okay, I warned you all that I would start working in some pop culture posts here and there, and this Peanuts-inspired take on Stranger Things really made my pop culture heart happy today.
And please note, there are spoilers ahead, as well as in the video below.
I’m always amazed all the creative people out there. I would have never thought to put these two worlds together, but I think I can see how it happened…the Christmas lights Will’s mom used to communicate with him while he was in the Upside Down had to have been the spark that lit this fireball of awesome in the creator’s brain. So brilliant.
And it picks up on why Will might be seeing his situation as a little glass half empty at the end of the first season. In a very Charlie Brown, ho-hum, wah-wah–wah way, of course:
“I like that I’m not trapped in the Upside Down and hiding from monsters anymore,” says Will, “but I’m still not happy. I don’t feel the way I’m supposed to feel.” And then he coughs up a green slimy thing. So, you know, I think his feelings are valid.
I don’t want to give too much of it away, but my favorite part is the dance party to the Stranger Things theme song. Too much.
Happy Friday everyone, hope you enjoy this!
